Mar’25 P3 to P4 Creative Writing & Oral

P3 to P4 Creative Writing & Oral

Supercharge Your Child’s Creative Writing & Oral
March Holiday Programme

“Isn’t it too early to start preparing for PSLE?”

You might be thinking, “My child has time,” or “Let them enjoy their break this holiday.” However, early preparation can make a huge difference in a child’s academic journey, especially when it comes to creative writing and oral. There have also been changes to the PSLE syllabus from 2025 that you need to prepare for.

At this stage, mastering the fundamentals—plot structure, vocabulary and language finesse, forming critical opinions and developing a good oral presentation structure—is important for your child’s growth. While other subjects might be easier to catch up on later, writing and oral skills take time to develop and refine. That’s why our latest holiday programme is designed to focus on only the essential elements that will give your child a headstart in these 2 critical components that come with high weightage.

This Creative Writing and Oral programme is not about overwhelming your child; it is about maximising their potential in the short amount of time they have available during this one-week school break.

What’s in it for every participant?

Leveraging on Our Experience, Our Insights – For Precision Training
With our in-house materials and experienced teachers, we provide good quality training to address your child’s fear of writing and brace them for oral performance. It does not matter if your child has not enrolled with us as a regular student, and only here for the short term. We will do our utmost to gain their attention, and motivate your child to write.

Assessing a student’s creative writing demands experience. By Primary 4, such expectations will have changed significantly. In fact, primary 3 and 4 are critical levels where the true foundation for success in creative writing at the Primary 5 & 6 levels is developed.

Advanced Assessments to Prepare for Exams
Creative Writing
Even if your child has not yet taken formal exams for any of these components, our dedicated teachers will meticulously assess their writing abilities rigorously, providing insightful comments on their potential exam performance. On the first day of the programme, your child will receive a diagnosis of their current writing issues. Using our in-house rubric based on the new 2025 MOE expectations, we will identify any language gap and offer tailored solutions for improvement in our feedback. Students who sign up for a full package will receive creative vocabulary cards at the end of the programme –  a colourful reward that can be kept as a future reference for your little wordsmiths!

Oral Training

Oral techniques will be taught in lively, practical ways, allowing your child to speak and practise in a supportive environment. Through this programme, your child will learn to improvise, adapt, and leverage their natural strengths when tackling various oral exam questions.

Key skills such as structured presentation techniques, strategic question analysis, and formulating strong, thoughtful opinions will be emphasised. In addition, we’ll focus on reading aloud to help your child confidently navigate the new reading expectations set by the MOE in 2025. These practical sessions are designed to ensure that your child is fully prepared to excel in oral exams while having fun in the process!

Grading with Detailed Comments
Your child will be learning to write 1 composition topic independently each day. Your child will have the opportunity to present individually during the oral segments, with the teacher providing support and guidance throughout the process. This approach helps build confidence and creates engaging performers who are comfortable handling audience attention without hesitation.

Our March holiday lessons will cater to the school’s weighted assessment standards. Grading and detailed marking will be provided, pitched at MOE standards.

Yield Good Results with Us
Improvement to School Results will be possible as the holiday programme is designed to focus on eliciting good commitment from your child. A high level of facilitation with an emphasis on goal setting and attainment will be used to activate your child’s true performance. We are covering a set of topics that parallel the way we spot topics in the exams for our PSLE students all along.

Strong Customer Satisfaction
Our holiday programme boasts a high success rate and satisfaction score among repeat customers. Participants return because of our meticulous approach to teacher training and lesson delivery. We’ve seen a good increase in enrolments for our holiday classes.

“My favourite story is Father Christmas. We get to act out a skit before we started analysing the characters. During that lesson, I learnt to write something meaningful. Best of all, I could get a lollipop as a reward. This is my third holiday course at Writers Studio.”

“I like to write but I needed to put on a bigger thinking cap. I learnt to make some bends in my story plot. I learnt new ways to write about the characters and what they do in their stories. I could pick up new vocabulary because at every paragraph, we are taught new phrases.”

“I enjoy the lessons taught during the Creative Writing Camp. There were so many interesting activities. I remember that we had to wear a face mask with a big nose and act out a character. It makes me think about what the character will say and do in my story. I learn to create new characters in my stories.”
